Atlantic Online - Atlantic Country Superstores... What is the difference?
Atlantic Online is the web based division of Atlantic Country Superstores. In regards to our customers and orders, the two are treated as separate entities and you may find that offers and prices differ from time to time between our superstore and our online web store.

Can I get free delivery?
Yes! Free delivery is available on almost all orders and will be dependent on order value, delivery area and the items you are ordering. We cannot list all the free delivery combinations as there are so many so keep an eye out when checking out as adding 1 or 2 more items to your basket could save you a delivery charge!

Can I order using my existing Atlantic Country Superstore monthly credit account?
If you are an existing Atlantic Country Superstore credit account holder, you will be able to order items against your monthly credit account terms in the near future, but this feature is not yet available.


Existing monthly credit account customers will need to contact our website services department on 01986 894745 to activate their accounts for online use. For security purposes, activation of credit accounts is not available online and must be actioned via telephone with a member of our sales team. All current account holders will be sent notification of when this feature will become active along with details of how to activate their online accounts.

How do I buy the items in my basket?
Once you have added all the items you wish to purchase to your basket and feel ready to complete your purchase, click the “Checkout” button from within the “Your shopping basket” at the top of every page or on the basket page.


Once your order has been placed you will receive an automated response via e-mail to confirm that we have received your order. You will then be kept updated via e-mail once your order is despatched to you, we will also let you know should we encounter any problems with your order.

How do I find products I am looking for?
There are three main ways for you to navigate to the products of your choice:


  1. Type a keyword into the search box, which appears on the left of every page.
  2. Click one of the “Shop Departments” buttons on the left of each page. From there you can then navigate through each department’s categories and sub-categories.
  3. If you know the item code for the item you are looking for you can find it directly by entering the item code in the search box

How long does delivery usually take?
The delivery timescales are dependant on delivery location, ordered items and overall order size. We aim to deliver all orders (for in stock items) within 7 working days of receipt of the order Many orders are delivered much sooner as we use a network of carriers offering 3 day services, but please be aware that there can sometimes be unforeseen delays encountered so we ask customers to allow up to 28 days for delivery. We endeavour to keep our customers updated with the progress of their orders and in the unlikely event that an order may be delayed we will inform you and a cancellation/refund will be an option to you.

How much does delivery cost?
All delivery charges will be automatically calculated dependent on a number of factors. These factors will include the type of items ordered, the area they are to be delivered to and the overall order value. It is impossible for us to list all the possible delivery charges on one page as there are so many combination factors. Rest assured that we try very hard to keep our delivery costs for our customers as low as possible. Your deivery charge will be clearly shown on your basket page once you have items in it, and may change according to subsequent items being added/removed.

I don’t have monthly credit account terms with Atlantic Country Superstore. How do I get them?
Monthly credit account terms are a separate entity to being an account customer. Being a monthly credit account holder means that you can order goods against your monthly credit account* and receive a monthly invoice for them. Account opening forms are available on request from our telesales team on 01986 894745.


*Please note this service is not yet available for online use. For all new acount applications, the first order must be paid for in advance before your credit account can be authorised.

Is shopping with Atlantic Online safe?
Buying with Atlantic Online is as safe as shopping over the internet can be! Atlantic Online goes to great lengths to protect our customers from a variety of unscrupulous threats and this site operates a Secure Socket Layer encryption protocol for all sensitive information transmitted to and from Atlantic Online. Below is some useful information regarding SSL:

    Secure Sockets Layer(SSL) Protocol Explained

    SSL encrypts data so that anyone who intercepts is unable to read it. SSL can assure a client that they are dealing with the real server they intended to connect to. SSL can prevent any unauthorized clients from connecting to the server. SSL prevents anyone from meddling with data going to or coming from the server.
    The Secure Sockets Layer(SSL) Protocol provides several layers of security available for all users of a web server equipped with SSL. All data coming from and going to an SSL equipped server is encrypted. This ensures that anyone who may be able to spy on the data transmission will not be able to understand the data. An SSL equipped server can also identify itself to anyone who visits it. This ensures that your clients can trust that they have indeed connected to the server they intended to reach.

    When necessary, an SSL equipped server can also authenticate the clients that are connecting to it. This ensures that a person connecting to your server is not pretending to be someone to whom you have given restricted access. An SSL equipped server can also assure data integrity. This security measure prevents meddlers from intercepting a data transmission (which they cannot understand) and replacing it with a fake one they create. With this feature you can be confident that no one is able to intervene between the server and the client.

    Because SSL is such a safe level of encryption it insures our clients can confidently re-assure their users that all data submitted within their sites will be properly maintained and secured. SSL provides businesses and consumers with the confidence that private data sent to a web site, such as credit card numbers, are kept confidential. Web server certificates are required to initialize an SSL session.


  • How do I know if the site I am viewing has implemented SSL Security?

    The easiest and quickest way to confirm whether the page you are viewing is protected by SSL security is to simply check the bottom right hand corner of your browser for the presence of a padlock symbol.

    If you can see a padlock symbol then the site has implemented SSL Security. In most cases the SSL security will only be added to webpages where users will be entering data, i.e. order forms.


  • Can I confirm the validity of the online company I am ordering with?

    Yes you can. In order to set up SSL security a company needs to gain a secure certificate. This entails a thorough background check to verify the legitimacy of the business applying for the certificate. If you see the following image (or similar) present on an SSL secured website then by clicking on it you will be transferred to a page that verifies that companies details.

Tell me about adding items to my basket
Once you have identified a product you wish to purchase you can add that item to your shopping basket by typing in the quantity you require (default qty is 1) and then clicking the “Add To Basket” button.

The shopping basket is where you store items you intend to buy. Should you need to disconnect from the site for any reason the system will automatically save those items in your basket for another time so that when you return you can proceed straight to your basket and carry on where you left off. You can always delete items from the Shopping Basket at any time should you so wish.

Once you have added an item to your shopping basket you have 3 options:

  1. View the items in your basket by clicking on the “View” button from within the “Your Shopping Basket” section.
  2. Search for more items to add to your basket.
  3. Click on the “Checkout” button from within the “Your Shopping Basket” section or the Basket page to pay for your goods and arrange delivery.

Why do I have to enter my delivery postcode before I can Checkout?
Due to the vast nature of our product range it is inevitable that some items may be unavailable to a small selection of some of the more remote areas of the UK due to exorbitant transport costs.


For example it is not economically viable for us to be able to deliver a bulky order such as 50 x 8’ fencing posts and a bunded fuel station to Aberdeen as the transport costs would far outweigh the cost of the products themselves!!! We could however send these types of area smaller orders that can be posted or sent via carrier, i.e. so long as the item is capable of being delivered by carrier or Royal Mail, it could go almost anywhere in the UK.


To help avoid the inconvenience of customers reaching the checkout pages with items in their baskets that we are unfortunately unable to deliver to them, we have devised a system where specifying your delivery postcode on the Basket page will warn you of any items unavailable for purchase and delivery in your specified area. If you require large quantities of items unavailable for delivery in your area, or are able to arrange the collection of items from our storage warehouse, please contact our sales to discuss a possible deal.

Why should I register?
Registering your details with Atlantic Online gives you access to the “My Account” section offering many useful features to enhance the Atlantic Online shopping experience. Once registered your details will be securely help by Atlantic Online and you will be able to log in to the site and modify them at any time. Features of the “My Account” Section include:


  • Manage Addresses
    This section allows customers to manage their billing and delivery addresses. In addition to editing your billing address, you may also store and edit multiple addresses for delivery purposes to make checking out much faster. For example you can save different delivery addresses and easily select them at checkout to save having to input them time and time again.

  • Personal Information
    Here customers can manage their personal information such as name and contact details and also change account passwords.

  • Order History
    This section allows customers to see a list of any previous orders made with Atlantic Online and also offers the ability to view a brief summary of each order. A handy feature also included in this section is the ability to repeat any order with just one click, so you can add the contents of a previous order to your basket and add or remove items or simply checkout.
